YOUTH CLASSES- PERFORMANCE
Winter Showcase
4th-12th grade
Students are offered a fun and exciting opportunity to be in a live production. Find out what the professionals go through, from the first rehearsal to the final show. (No experience necessary.)
Class meets at: United Evengelical Free Church, 1420 NW 80th St
Mondays, Feb 6- April 9 (no class the week of Feb 20-24), 6:30 – 8:30 pm
9 weeks (10 class sessions including dress rehearsal) - $235

Midwinter Break Camps - Session 1
3rd-8th grade
Students will sample a buffet of acting techniques such as: improv, stage combat, Shakespeare and musical theatre in this one-week adventure! Parents will enjoy a presentation the final day of camp.

ADULT CLASSES
Professional Audition Master Class
Make a big impact at every audition! Taproot’s Associate Artistic Director Karen Lund teaches this limited-run class for the actor who wants to get work. Receive coaching on the selection process and performance of audition pieces, while gaining inside info on auditioning and casting from one of Seattle’s professional casting directors.
This class has no final performance. (Class size is limited)
Taught by Karen Lund, the Associate Artistic Director at Taproot Theatre Company in Seattle, Washington. She has performed and directed at theatres across the country including the Illinois Repertory Theatre, Empty Space Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and the Kentucky and Idaho Shakespeare Festivals. A former talent agent, Karen co-founded the SAG and AFTRA franchised Dramatic Artists Agency where she represented Jim Caviezel, (“The Passion of the Christ”) Reiko Aylesworth, (“24”) and Joel McHale (“Talk Soup”) among others.

Actor’s Workout
Work your acting muscles! This class is like aerobics for the actor’s voice, mind and body. Combining a weekly regime of acting exercises with scripted and unscripted work, you will take risks and develop focus while creating an ensemble with your classmates. Taught by Rob Martin.
This class has no final performance. (No prior experience required)
Taught by Rob Martin who has been a professional Teaching Artist in Seattle for over eight years, teaching Improv and Theatre to students of all ages. He has a B.A. in Theatre from Whitworth University, has completed the Seattle Children’s Theatre Education Internship and Teaching Apprenticeship programs, and is currently on faculty at the Seattle Children’s Theatre Drama School. He has appeared in a number of Taproot’s mainstage productions and was last seen in The Beams are Creaking. Rob is a long time member of Taproot’s Improv Comedy team and enjoys approaching acting with a huge sense of play!
