Acting Studio Fall 2012 Class Schedule
“Christmas time is here…” Well, it might not be here yet, but it will be before you know it! This year’s Christmas Showcase students take a page out of the Mainstage script with their very own production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol, Jr. As students work on this Taproot original they’ll finely tune their theatrical skills, build an ensemble and be inspired to take artistic risks. We wish you a Merry Christmas and hope your student will spend part of their season in this dynamic, fun and engaging class.

Holiday Break Mini-Camp (Comedy of Clowning)
How much skill does it take to perform a prat fall, trip over your own feet or walk into a wall? If you could ask the Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin or Dick van Dyke they’d tell you it takes a lot! In this one of a kind three day camp, students will learn what it takes to perfect the art of physical comedy as they juggle, trip, run and spin with the best of them. You’ll be amazed on the final day when this talented group of students puts on a performance that will make you laugh until you cry. Experience isn’t necessary, but a good sense of humor is a must.
Teacher: Simon Pringle
Location: Taproot Theatre, 204 N 85th St
Dates: December 26-28 | Time: 10am-4pm
Performance: Friday, December 28th, 3pm at TTC
Taught by Taproot actress Candace Vance. If you have ever watched a favorite actor or actress on stage and thought to yourself, “how do they do that?” then this class is for you! Focusing on the rehearsal process, you’ll experience what the professionals do as you work on a one-act play to be performed on the Taproot stage. You will also be challenged to make bold and detailed character decisions and fully immerse yourself in the world of the play as you learn to trust your instincts and respond in the moment. Experience is not required, but a desire to learn and the ability to take risks are!
