Taproot Theatre's Road Company had a great time performing Camp Super Friend at the New York International Fringe Festival (FringeJR) in August 2009! Here are some highlights:
Talkin’ Broadway says the play’s “ability to impart crucial life lessons in a buoyant, creative, enjoyable way is one talent that lots of bigger and stronger children’s shows simply don’t possess.”
NYTheatre.com calls it “a fun, exuberant kids' show.”
Time Out New York says this play “has lessons to teach about making friends, respecting others and embracing one’s own individuality” and addresses the subject of bullying in a “fun, kid-friendly way.”
The Road Company was also mentioned in New York Magazine’s FringeJR listing, The Villager and the New York Times.

A play about forming friendships and appreciating differences
Marvel may be a super hero, but that doesn’t mean he knows how to be a super friend … yet. At Super Camp, the summer camp for super heroes, Marvel discovers it’s a lot harder to make friends than he thought. With some helpful advice from his dad, and the assistance of his camp counselor, Marvel learns what it takes to make and be a good friend.
Meanwhile, the evil Professor Nemesis has come up with a sinister plan to strip all the super-heroes of their powers. It’s up to Marvel and his new friends to use their special gifts and work together to save the day.
