About the Road Company

Being a kid is hard—and bullying makes it even harder. Taproot’s Road Company uses research-backed strategies from Committee for Children’s Second Step curriculum to help students build empathy, manage emotions, and stand up for themselves and others. Since 1985, the Road Company has brought professional theatre to schools across Washington State, reaching more than 70,000 K–12 students each year with dynamic bullying-prevention plays that educate, empower, and inspire.

Our scripts are updated annually to reflect the challenges students face today, including:
• Cyberbullying and online safety
• Racism, inclusion, and belonging
• Emotional regulation and peer conflict
• Respect, empathy, and healthy friendships

Our shows tackle real issues with heart, humor, and hope—sparking meaningful conversations long after the performance ends.
