Join us for creative-drama writing workshops and get your ideas on their feet! We’ll focus on idea generation, story arch, character development, and other fun story-related learning activities. You’ll write out your stories, which a group of adult actors will take as a basis for a final evening performance. Be it a soap opera episode of a dog who wants to be a cat, a rock music video about taking tap dance classes, or whatever story magic you create, you’ll see it performed on stage for your families and friends in a truly delightful celebration of creativity.
Final performance:
Wednesday, April 9, 7pm
4th – 8th Grade
Theatre is all about telling a great story. The stronger an ensemble and the more confident the actors, the better the story they can tell. As students work together, they’ll be challenged to make bold and detailed character decisions and fully immerse themselves in the world of the play. Students will be amazed at what they’ve accomplished when it all comes together in a short, final performance for their friends and family with lights, costumes, and props!
Final performance:
Thursday April 10, 7pm
4th – 12th Grade

Concludes with a low-key in-class performance for families and friends.

Taproot Theatre acknowledges that we live, work and play on the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the Duwamish, and that we occupy this land. This acknowledgement does not take the place of authentic relationships with Indigenous communities but serves as a first step in honoring the land we occupy and resisting the erasure of Indigenous past, present and future.
