In the cozy Eagle and Child Pub, renowned authors C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien joust over pints and memories. Years after the Inklings, they have grown distant, diverging in matters of theology, marriage, and literature. In this fictional encounter, they delve into their personal and professional rivalries, igniting the stage with their wit and wisdom.

As you’ve (hopefully) heard, Taproot Theatre received a dedicated grant from the State of Washington for much-needed building improvements! In January and February of 2025, the Jewell Mainstage theatre will be closed to receive upgrades to the electrical system, improvements to the hearing loop system, and new seats! In addition to being more comfortable at the theatre, what does this mean for you?

• Because Jewell Mainstage will be inaccessible at the beginning of the year, you have the option of a 4-play subscription instead of the traditional 5 plays.
• Taproot will produce the brand-new play Lewis and Tolkien in the Isaac Studio Theatre in January and February. All seats are general admission.
• As there are a limited number of seats in the Isaac Studio Theatre, you can purchase Lewis and Tolkien now as an “add-on” to your 4- or 3-play subscription package.
